SB 1383 Food Recovery Law: requires each jurisdiction in California to implement an edible food recovery program. The legislation requires commercial edible food generators to establish contracts or written agreements with food recovery organizations so that the maximum amount of their excess edible food is recovered to feed people. Beginning January 1, 2019, vendors and retailers are no longer permitted to distribute or sell foam food and beverage containers in the City of Santa Barbara. Exemptions apply. Please visit the Foam Ban Information Page for more details.
All recycling and compost services are half as expensive as trash service. Replace trash bins with blue, green, or yellow bins to save money on your monthly bill.
